In a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump announced on Friday the replacement of his White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles, and that she would be replaced by her deputy, Stephen Miller.
“I am pleased to announce that Stephen Miller, the current deputy chief of staff and one of my most trusted advisors, will assume the role of chief of staff effective Monday, November 9, 2026. Suzy Wiles, who has done an outstanding job, will be moving to the Trump Policy Office. I want to thank her for her service as Chief of Staff—she did an outstanding job! President Donald Trump.”
Moreover, there was intense speculation following the defeat in the midterm elections that officials from the president’s inner circle would “pay the price” for the loss in Congress. Reports in the American media mentioned, in addition to Wiles, the names of Defense Secretary Pete Hegesez and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, albeit for different reasons.
