At Lidl Cyprus, equality and inclusion are an integral part of the day-to-day work experience. With the aim of fostering dialogue on issues that affect daily life in the workplace, the company is launching a new video series “Equality in Action,” in line with its Equal Treatment Policy, which it implements to ensure an environment of respect, safety, and equal opportunities for everyone.
The series consists of four episodes focusing on issues of age inclusion, home care needs, sexual orientation, and racial discrimination. Through everyday and relatable situations, it highlights behaviors and stereotypes that often go unnoticed but can significantly impact people’s experiences in the workplace.
This initiative is part of Lidl Cyprus’s broader efforts to promote a culture of acceptance, respect, and equal opportunity. As one of the largest employers in Cyprus, the company aims, through the “Equality in Action” series, to contribute to the broader dialogue on inclusion and to raise awareness throughout the labor market. The goal is for the content of the series to serve as a catalyst for reflection and positive change, not only for the people at Lidl Cyprus, but for any organization seeking to create a better work environment for everyone. A culture that is expressed both through the company’s internal policies and practices and through initiatives with a social impact, such as its participation as a Proud Sponsor of Cyprus Pride 2026.
Sophia Ouzounidou, Chief People Officer at Lidl Cyprus, stated:
“At Lidl Cyprus, we believe that equality and inclusion are not concepts limited to policies and procedures. They are part of our everyday culture and are reflected in the way we work together, grow, and support one another. The ‘Equality in Action’ series was created to spark a meaningful dialogue around issues that affect everyday life in the workplace and to remind us that respect begins with our small, everyday actions.”
For Lidl Cyprus, truly caring for its people is a holistic approach: it begins with creating a safe, inclusive environment and is sealed by ensuring their financial security in practice.
Demonstrating its position as a top employer of choice, the company offers one of the most competitive starting gross full-time salaries on the market, at €1,220, 14 paychecks per year, private health insurance, vouchers twice a year, as well as additional parental benefits, while also systematically investing in the growth and development of its people.
Through its “Equality in Action” initiative, Lidl Cyprus reaffirms its steadfast commitment to fostering a work environment where diversity is a strength, respect is a daily practice, and inclusion is everyone’s responsibility.
