For the sixth consecutive year, the Pilakouta Group is supporting Race for the Cure Cyprus, continuing its partnership with Europa Donna Cyprus as a major sponsor of the event. This partnership is part of the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and its steadfast commitment to the fight against breast cancer.

During a press conference held at Char. Pilakoutas Heritage—the Pilakoutas Group’s iconic venue that houses historic and rare car models—the announcement was made that this year’s Race for the Cure will take place in Cyprus. With the message “With every step we support each other!”, the event aims to educate and raise public awareness about breast cancer, highlighting the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.

In her remarks, the Director of Business Development for the Pilakouta Group, Kelia Pilakouta Christoforou, referred to the Group’s long-standing support for Europa Donna Cyprus, which, for the past six years, has aimed to actively support its important work. She also emphasized that “Behind every breast cancer case statistic there is a person, a family, a personal journey, and a tough battle. That is why awareness, prevention, and early diagnosis are so important. The Race for the Cure also reminds us of something else: that strength grows when it is collective. Every participant, every step, every voice adds another link to a great chain of solidarity.”

Olga Papadimou, President of Europa Donna Cyprus, spoke about the Race for the Cure at the press conference: “There are certain paths in life, my friends, that we do not choose for ourselves. I know this well from my own experience with breast cancer, as do many other friends here. During the most difficult moments of our journey, having someone by your side can make a huge difference. That’s exactly what we want to achieve through the Race for the Cure: to turn personal hardship into collective strength. To show that, when we’re together, even the toughest journeys become a little easier. That’s why, on November 1, we won’t just be counting kilometers.”

The Race for the Cure takes place in many cities across Europe, in collaboration with breast cancer organizations. Beyond its significant contribution to raising public awareness, the event highlights the importance of strength and hope.

In Cyprus, the Race for the Cure is being organized by Europa Donna Cyprus for the 11th consecutive year. This year, it will take place on Sunday, November 1, starting at the University of Cyprus Sports Center in Aglantzia, Nicosia. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m.

The Pilakouta Group invites the public to participate in Race for the Cure Cyprus 2026, either individually or as a team, by registering at https://www.raceforthecure.eu/en?r=1

In this race, some of us will run. Others will walk. But we will all stand alongside every person who is fighting or has fought their own battle. With life itself as the prize!
