The European University of Cyprus (EUC) and the Cypriot pharmaceutical company Medochemie Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening their collaboration in the fields of research, education, training, and innovation.
The Memorandum was signed on behalf of the European University of Cyprus by Dr. Christoforos Hadjikyprianou, CEO & Chairman of the Board, while on behalf of Medochemie Ltd, it was signed by Dr. Christakis Sergides, Director of Innovation and Corporate Social Responsibility (I & CSR), and Ms. Giota Andreou, Learning, Development & Wellbeing Assistant Manager.
This collaboration represents an important step toward connecting the academic and research community with the Cypriot pharmaceutical industry, creating new opportunities for applied research in areas of mutual interest.
Under the terms of the Memorandum, the European University of Cyprus and Medochemie will collaborate on research, education, and training, as well as on the exchange of knowledge and expertise. Particular emphasis will be placed on health sectors related to pharmaceutical science, and joint participation is also planned in research programs funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation (IDEK), the European Commission, and other funding bodies.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen Medochemie’s efforts in the field of Research, Development, and Innovation, while also offering researchers at the European University of Cyprus opportunities to conduct applied research that meets the needs of the market and society.
The signing of the Memorandum highlights the importance of research and innovation for Cyprus’s future, as well as the need for meaningful collaboration between universities, research institutions, and businesses, with the goal of generating new knowledge, developing innovative applications, and improving people’s quality of life and health.
