The 18-year-old defendant from Syros who escaped from the police van is now in the custody of the authorities, while he was being transported to the Larnaca District Court to continue the legal proceedings against him regarding burglary and theft cases.
The fugitive was located about two hours later and a few kilometers away, in the center of Zinonas, where he was re-arrested by police officers.

The young defendant was reportedly inside the police van, accompanied by an officer, from which he managed to escape. The vehicle’s door was found open, and it is believed he fled on foot.
Authorities launched a manhunt to locate him, “combing” the wider area around the courthouse with patrol cars.
