A 20-year-old man was placed in four-day custody today, following the issuance of a relevant order by the Limassol District Court, at the request of the Police, for the purpose of investigating a case of attempted destruction of property with explosive materials, which occurred on September 30, 2026, in Limassol.
The 20-year-old was arrested yesterday by police officers pursuant to a court warrant, which was obtained following testimony that emerged during the investigation of the case.

The area was immediately cordoned off, and the improvised explosive device—which had been triggered but did not detonate—was safely defused by a police bomb disposal expert.
On October 4, 2026, three other individuals, aged 20, 22, and 28, were arrested in connection with the case and were placed in eight-day pretrial detention by court order on the same day..
On October 12, 2026, the case was scheduled for trial before the Limassol Permanent Criminal Court, with the 22-year-old among the three arrested individuals standing as the defendant, while police investigations continue.
