He was ultimately found to be concealing more than one kilogram of cocaine on his person, a 28-year-old man who had been located and arrested on July 6, 2026, by members of the Drug Enforcement Agency (YKAN) and the Customs Department at Larnaca Airport.
The 28-year-old was hospitalized at Larnaca General Hospital so that he could safely expel all the packets of cocaine he had hidden inside his body. After expelling a total of 110 packages, with a combined gross weight of one kilogram and 110 grams, he was discharged yesterday.

This morning, he appeared before the Larnaca District Court, where a case was filed against him. The court referred the case for trial to the Larnaca Criminal Court, while ordering that the defendant remain in custody until the next hearing, which was set for October 5, 2026.
The 28-year-old was arrested following an assessment of information received by the Drug Enforcement Agency (YKAN), as part of joint operations between the YKAN and the Customs Department to identify individuals smuggling drugs into the Republic.
The YKAN is continuing its investigation into the case.
