At around 8:10 p.m. last night, as part of traffic checks being conducted by the police, a car was pulled over for inspection on a street in Xylofago.

Upon checking the driver’s information, it was determined that he was a 36-year-old man who was driving the car without a driver’s license and without proof of insurance.

The 36-year-old driver was administered a breathalyzer test, which showed a final reading of 150 μg% instead of 9 μg%, which is the legal limit.

The 36-year-old was arrested for offenses committed in the act and taken to the Xylofagou Police Station. He is scheduled to appear on July 6, 2026, before the Famagusta District Court for immediate filing of the case.

The Xylofagou Police Station is continuing its investigation.
