Members of the DAOE—Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (Drug Enforcement Service – Sub-Directorate of Intelligence and Special Operations), as part of a coordinated operation carried out in Nicosia.
Specifically, following the collection and evaluation of evidence, members of the YKAN (YPE) located and arrested the 42-year-old man in the act at a post office in Nicosia, just as he was picking up a package. During the subsequent search, it was determined that the package contained approximately one kilogram of crystalline methamphetamine.

The package, as well as two cell phones in the suspect’s possession, were seized as evidence for further investigation.
Subsequently, a search was conducted at the 42-year-old’s residence, where a small quantity of dried cannabis plant material, various documents, and two additional cell phones were found. All items found were seized for further examination.
The 42-year-old was taken into custody and is expected to appear tomorrow morning before the Nicosia District Court to secure a detention order.
