Police in the Paphos district arrested a 20-year-old man today as part of an investigation into three cases of online fraud.
Specifically, during the investigation of three complaints filed with the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department regarding online fraud (via text messages) and the theft of more than €19,500, evidence emerged against the 20-year-old, who was arrested pursuant to a court warrant. He was subsequently brought before the Paphos District Court, which issued an order for his eight-day detention.
It should be noted that the 20-year-old is currently in custody as part of an investigation into three other cases being probed by the Larnaca Cybercrime Unit, which also involve offenses of online fraud (via text messages) and the theft of more than €7,000, for which he was arrested on October 6, 2026.
