The Police remind the public that today, October 1, 2026, due to the military parade scheduled for 11 a.m., on Joseph X Joseph Avenue in Strovolos, the following streets will be temporarily closed to traffic:
The section of Joseph X Joseph Avenue from the intersection with Spyros Kyprianou Avenue to the intersection with Athalassa Avenue, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The section of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue from the Tseriou roundabout to the intersection with Joseph X Joseph Avenue, between 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
The section of Dimitris Vikelas Street, from the intersection with Spyros Kyprianou Avenue to the roundabout with Independence Avenue (GSP), between 6:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The section of Perikleous Street from the intersection with Joseph X Joseph Avenue to the junction with Giannitson Street, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The section of Stavrou Avenue from the intersection with Joseph X Joseph Avenue to the junction with Giannitson Street, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Also, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., traffic will be temporarily blocked on the section of Athalassa Avenue from the intersection with Joseph X Avenue, to the junction with Limassol Avenue, in order to facilitate the departure of all motorized units participating in the parade.
Between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., on the Limassol – Nicosia Highway, from the area near Kornos to the GSP roundabout and vice versa, National Guard vehicles will be traveling to and from the parade venue. Therefore, drivers are urged to exercise extra caution and follow the instructions of the police officers on duty. Where possible, they are encouraged to use the old Nicosia–Limassol road to avoid any inconvenience.

Specifically, during the above road closures, drivers wishing to travel outside Nicosia are advised to take the Nicosia–Limassol highway via Limassol Avenue (Kalispera Traffic Lights) and via the ring road, from the Tseri roundabout before the village of Tseri. Drivers heading toward Nicosia are also advised to use these same routes. They may also use Ippokratous and Dimitris Christofias Streets.
At the same time, those wishing to travel within the area bounded by Athalassa Avenue, Iosif X’Iosif, Spyrou Kyprianou, and the Limassol–Nicosia Highway are asked to enter this area via the Limassol – Nicosia highway exit, near the Olympic Hall, and to exit the area via the exit toward Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue, near the Church of Panagia tou Trachona.
Drivers are urged to comply with the instructions of the police officers on duty.
Please also note that the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) is prohibited.
