The cause of death of 75-year-old Erato Athanasiou remains unknown; who had been missing for eleven days in the mountainous region of Kampos in Tsakkistra and was found dead inside the Paphos State Forest, fifteen kilometers away from where she was last seen.
The autopsy on the body of the unfortunate elderly woman, performed at Nicosia General Hospital by medical examiner Nikolaos Charalambous, confirmed that she had no external injuries orinternal injuries, and samples were taken to be sent for scientific analysis.

As reported earlier today by Alpha’s correspondent in Paphos, Kostas Nanos, her clothes have been identified by her relatives, though her scientific identification via DNA has not yet been completed. Police and a medical examiner were called to the scene where the unfortunate woman was found to rule out the possibility of a criminal act. Meanwhile, DNA tests are expected to be completed for her official identification.
