Foreign nationals were brutally attacked with a bat at midnight in Polis Chrysochous.
According to Paphos Assistant Police Director of Operations Michalis Nikolaou, who spoke on the Alpha News program, the three foreign nationals were riding a scooter on a street in the area when, at some point, they were attacked with a bat by a passenger in a passing vehicle.
Specifically, one of the passengers struck one of the foreigners on the head, causing all three to fall onto the road.
The three foreign nationals were taken to the hospital without sustaining serious injuries, while authorities are conducting investigations in the area to locate potential witnesses or security camera footage in order to identify the perpetrators.
As reported by Alpha’s correspondent in Paphos, Costas Nanos, the perpetrators were traveling in an SUV.
The foreign nationals were traveling on secondary roads, as they had previously been attacked on the main road, causing them to fear traveling on it.
At the same time, the employers of foreign workers in the area have complained to the authorities about the investigation of such incidents.
