Around 10 p.m. on Sunday, a report was received regarding a scuffle in the Agios Ioannis area of Limassol. Following a police investigation in the area, a rental car was located, inside which were bats and a cleaver. The car was taken to the Limassol Police Headquarters for further examination.
Shortly thereafter, during the search of the area, police officers spotted five individuals who, upon seeing the officers, fled; three of them got into a car and attempted to escape.
The vehicle was immediately stopped, and a subsequent check revealed that the occupants were a 21-year-old, a 27-year-old, and a 28-year-old. At the same time, the two pedestrians were also stopped; after being checked, they were identified as a 26-year-old and a 30-year-old.
The five individuals were arrested on the spot for the offense of unlawful assembly and were taken to the Limassol CID offices. Investigations are underway to determine their involvement in the incident.
Subsequently, around 1 a.m., following relevant information received, two men, aged 24 and 22, were found injured at two different locations in Agios Ioannis, Limassol, two men, aged 24 and 22, who were transported by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital.
Regarding the two injured men, they were admitted for treatment, and their condition is considered serious since, according to the doctors on duty, the 24-year-old has skull fractures, a subdural hematoma, a scapular fracture, a vertebral fracture, and other injuries, while the 22-year-old has an open skull fracture with associated fractures, an epidural hematoma, and a vertebral fracture.
