The residents of a house in Kaimakli had a close call when a malfunction in an air conditioner caused a fire in the early hours of Friday morning.
Specifically, at 3:45 a.m., the Kaimakli Fire Station responded to a call about a fire in an air conditioner compressor at a ground-floor house in Kaimakli, in the Nicosia district.

The fire was extinguished before the Fire Department arrived. Upon arrival, Fire Department personnel conducted a final extinguishment and inspection of the premises.
The residents of the home noticed the fire in time and were not in danger. The fire appears to have been caused by an electrical and/or mechanical malfunction.
