An unspeakable tragedy. The 16-year-old electric scooter rider, who had been struck by a drunk driver on August 7 in Aglatzia, lost his battle.
Let us recall that the serious traffic accident occurred in the early hours of August 7, 2026, in Aglantzia, Nicosia, causing critical injuries to the 16-year-old.

The 27-year-old driver of the car initially fled the scene but was located shortly thereafter by the police. He was given a breathalyzer test, which came back positive (driving under the influence), and was arrested.
A few hours after the accident, the police also arrested the driver’s 27-year-old wife. She was inside the vehicle and falsely claimed to authorities that she was driving at the time, in an attempt to cover for her husband. However, witness testimony refuted her claim.
