ALPHANEWSLIVE

Severe weather conditions are being reported in the early afternoon in the mountainous regions of Cyprus.

The scene in the mountains is more reminiscent of fall than summer, with residents capturing footage of heavy rainfall.

According to the Meteorological Service, this afternoon, the weather in most areas will be mostly clear with temporarily increased cloud cover; however, clouds developing in the mountains and possibly in inland and eastern areas are expected to bring isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms. Hail cannot be ruled out during thunderstorms. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and along the southern and eastern coasts, they will be temporarily strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort.

Conditions will be similar in the coming days, and hail is also expected during thunderstorms.
