An incredible story is unfolding in Tremithousa, in the Paphos district, just a few days before the start of the new school year.
Alpha Cyprus’s correspondent in the city and district of Paphos reported on the program “Alpha Summer” that officials from the Ministry of Education have decided to move one of the four prefabricatedclassrooms at the Tremithousa Elementary School to another school to meet the students’ space needs.
At the same time, they decided to… allocate one of the remaining prefabricated classrooms to the Tremithousa Elementary School to meet the children’s educational needs.
This decision sparked a strong reaction from members of the Parents’ Association, who gathered outside the school at 7:00 a.m. today to protest, since the relocation of the prefabricated classroom had been scheduled.
They claim that the partitioning of the classroom does not allow students to learn in a dignified environment, while it also raises safety concerns for both the children and the staff.
It should be noted that four of the six classrooms at the Tremithousa Elementary School are prefabricated.
