Police officers in Limassol arrested a 22-year-old man yesterday to facilitate the investigation, as part of an investigation into a motorcycle theft and illegal possession of property.
According to the evidence under review, on the afternoon of last Thursday, June 25, a motorcycle belonging to a 34-year-old man was stolen while it was parked in the parking area of his residence in Limassol. Two power tools were also stolen from the same location.
Shortly after 1:00 p.m. yesterday, following a tip, members of the Limassol Traffic Police located the stolen motorcycle in a parking lot at an apartment complex in Limassol, while inside a car parked nearby, they found two power tools that resembled the stolen tools.
After the 22-year-old owner of the car was located, a search was conducted in his presence of the vehicle, as well as of his residence in Limassol. During the search, various items were found, including a motorcycle without license plates, whose identifying marks had been removed.
The 22-year-old failed to provide satisfactory explanations for his possession of the property found in the vehicle and at his residence, as a result of which police officers proceeded to arrest him for the flagrant offense of illegal possession of property.
Subsequently, after evidence emerged linking the 22-year-old to the theft of the 34-year-old’s motorcycle, a court arrest warrant was issued against him, pursuant to which he was arrested and taken into custody.
The Limassol CID is continuing its investigation.
