The heat wave is back, following the heavy rainfall of the past few days.
The Meteorological Service has issued a yellow warning for extreme maximum temperatures.
The warning will be in effect from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, with maximum temperatures expected to reach around 41 degrees in the interior and around 32 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

A relatively warm air mass is expected starting tomorrow.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear. In the early morning hours, locally increased low-level cloud cover is expected in eastern coastal areas. Winds will initially be westerly to northwesterly, light and locally moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, later becoming mainly light land breezes, up to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly choppy. Temperatures will drop to around 23 degrees inland, on the northern and eastern coasts, around 24 degrees on the rest of the coasts, and around 19 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tomorrow, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds in the morning will be variable and light, up to 3 Beaufort, later shifting to mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally strong—5 Beaufort—along the southwestern coast. The sea will be calm to slightly rough in the morning, but slightly rough in the afternoon on the windward sides. Temperatures will reach around 41 degrees inland, around 33 on the western coast, around 36 on the rest of the coast, and around 32 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tomorrow night, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will be mainly westerly to northwesterly, initially light and locally moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, later becoming light, up to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough in the leeward areas, but will remain slightly rough in the windward areas.
On Saturday, the weather will be mostly clear.
On Sunday and Monday, the weather will remain mostly clear, although locally increased cloud cover will be observed in the afternoons, mainly in the mountains. Late at night and early in the morning, localized low clouds and light fog are expected, mainly in the eastern half of the island.
Temperatures will drop slightly on Saturday and remain at the same levels through Monday, when they will be slightly above average.
