On the Customs Department’s official Facebook page, a post from a specific political party was reposted, prompting the Department to issue a statement explaining the situation.
“The Customs Department’s management expresses its deep regret over the unfortunate reposting of a post by a specific political party, which appeared for about an hour on the Department’s official Facebook page, and candidly states that this may have been due to the page administrator accidentally clicking the ‘share’ button while posting about a very recent case of tobacco product seizuresat Larnaca Airport.”

“As soon as the repost was noticed, the page administrators made every effort to delete it and did so immediately,” the statement adds.
“On behalf of the entire staff, we express our sincere apologies for the disruption caused by this unfortunate repost,” the Customs announcement concludes.
