The police maintained a strong presence and carried out intensive operations throughout Cyprus last night, conducting organized patrols at key locations in urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order, and increasing the public’s sense of security.
These preventive policing operations resulted in the arrest of four individuals for various offenses, including burglaries, thefts, trespassing, and malicious damage.
During the night, 605 vehicles were stopped for inspection, and 742 drivers and passengers were checked. At the same time, 33 property inspections were conducted, none of which resulted in charges.
During the traffic checks, 328 citations were issued for various traffic violations, 132 of which were for speeding. A total of 136 breathalyzer tests were administered, with six positive results, as well as four preliminary drug tests, one of which was positive. In addition, as part of the police operations, twenty vehicles were impounded.
Law enforcement operations, aimed at crime prevention and suppression, continue daily, with an increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action, with the aim of protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
