An unimaginable tragedy occurred on Sunday afternoon when two young children were found dead in the Xylofago area.

According to initial reports, the children, aged eight and ten, were found unconscious inside a vehicle outside a home in Xylofagou.

Members of the British Bases Police rushed to the scene, along with an ambulance, which transported the children to a hospital in the Famagusta district.

Unfortunately, the doctors on duty pronounced them dead.

The British Bases Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.

Under scrutiny is the reason why the children were left alone in the car, as well as the amount of time that elapsed before they were found dead.
