A 7-year-old girl and her 48-year-old father are in serious condition after being injured in an accident that occurred at noon in Protaras.
The inflatable boat they were riding on, along with three other family members— all Greek Cypriots, was being towed by a speedboat when it was struck by a jet ski driven by a 17-year-old Greek Cypriot girl with an 18-year-old passenger.
The 7-year-old was taken to Makarios Hospital for treatment; her condition is serious but she is out of danger. It was determined that she suffered a skull fracture and a brain hemorrhage.
The 48-year-old man is being treated for a pelvic fracture and is also out of danger. An 11-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy who were also on the inflatable boat underwent medical examinations and were discharged.
