The police maintained a strong presence and carried out intensive operations throughout Cyprus last night, with organized patrols conducted at key locations in urban areas, aimed at preventing serious criminal acts, maintaining public order, and increasing the public’s sense of security.
These preventive policing operations resulted in the arrest of twelve individuals for various offenses, including illegal residence in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, burglary and theft, carrying a knife, and causing actual bodily harm. During the night, 446 vehicles were stopped for inspection, and 574 drivers and passengers were checked. At the same time, 31 property searches were conducted, resulting in 1 complaint.
During the traffic checks, 227 citations were issued for various traffic violations, 66 of which were for speeding. A total of 103 breathalyzer tests were conducted, during which 1 driver tested positive. Six drug tests were also conducted, with one positive result. Additionally, as part of the police operations, three vehicles were impounded.
Law enforcement operations, aimed at crime prevention and suppression, continue daily, with an increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action, with the aim of protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
