Police authorities are conducting an intensive investigation into the brutal beating of a 16-year-old that took place Friday night in the Latsia area and was captured on video, which is circulating online.
Kyriakos Theodorou, a spokesperson for the Police Headquarters Press Office, stated on the “Alpha Kalimera” program that yesterday afternoon, the victim’s father filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Division, and an investigation into this unprecedented case began immediately.

The minor was taken to a clinic where he was examined by a doctor, who found that he had bruises and contusions on various parts of his body and had suffered a broken nose. The attending physicians determined that hospitalization was not necessary, and after he received first aid, he was discharged.
According to reports, the 16-year-old is expected to give a statement to the police in the coming hours in the presence of a parent and a lawyer. Preliminary investigations indicate that the majority of the perpetrators are between the ages of 15 and 17.
Mr. Theodorou did not hide the police’s concern regarding the rise in cases of juvenile delinquency and emphasized the need to tighten the relevant legislation.
