Police today arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the arson of a betting agency that took place on June 1 in Limassol. The suspect is a 30-year-old man against whom evidence emerged during the investigation of the case by the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department.
The 30-year-old was located by officers from the Ledra Police Substation around 9:30 a.m. today in Nicosia and was arrested pursuant to a court warrant. He was taken into custody to facilitate the investigation, with the Limassol CID continuing its inquiries.
In connection with the same case, on June 1, pursuant to court warrants, two 20-year-old men were arrested in connection with the same case, while a third suspect, a 44-year-old man, was arrested on June 4, also pursuant to a court warrant, (Police Press Release No. 6, dated June 1, 2026, and Police Press Release No. 2, dated June 5, 2026, relevant).
According to the case file, on June 1, at approximately 2:50 a.m., a fire was maliciously set at a betting agency in Limassol. The fire was extinguished by local residents before it could spread inside the betting agency. The fire destroyed the glass display case and caused damage to the building’s masonry.
