A 43-year-old man was arrested yesterday at noon on a flagrant offense to facilitate the investigation into a case involving the illegal possession and transportation of explosives.
Specifically, while the 43-year-old was on the premises of the Limassol District Court, during a security check conducted at the security checkpoint, a number of suspicious objects resembling bullets were found in the small bag he was carrying, a number of suspicious objects resembling bullets.
Upon further inspection, it was determined that these were 13 9-millimeter cartridges, regarding which he made certain claims that are currently under investigation. A search was then conducted both on the motorcycle he had ridden to court and at his residence, without anything incriminating being found.
The 43-year-old was taken to the Limassol CID offices, where he was re-arrested pursuant to a court warrant and placed in custody.
The Limassol CID is continuing its investigation.
