A 26-year-old man was arrested this morning pursuant to a court warrant and taken into custody to facilitate the investigation into an ongoing case involving the illegal possession of drugs, illegal possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute and money laundering.
Specifically, members of the Drug Enforcement Agency (YKAN), in cooperation with members of the Information Management and Analysis Service, conducted a search pursuant to a court warrant at the 26-year-old’s residence in Nicosia.

During the search, a quantity of cocaine with a total gross weight of 17.5 grams, three precision electronic scales with traces of cocaine on them, a cell phone, and the sum of €28,440. A search of the 26-year-old’s car followed, during which two additional cell phones were found and seized.
The 26-year-old suspect was taken into custody and is expected to appear before the Nicosia District Court tomorrow morning for a detention hearing.
The Drug Enforcement Agency (Nicosia Unit) is continuing its investigation.
