An area in Latsia is without power due to a fault in the EAC grid.

According to Christina Papadopoulou, spokesperson for the Electricity Authority, the fault is in the medium-voltage grid, and the Authority’s crews are on the scene to address the problem.

The initial assessment is that the failure is due to a severed underground cable caused by contractor work, with EAC crews conducting an inspection to determine whether this is indeed the problem.

If this is confirmed to be the cause of the outage, power is expected to be restored shortly, with the EAC providing an alternative power supply.
