The police are investigating eleven cases of burglaries and thefts that occurred in the early morning hours yesterday in the Nicosia district. The incidents involved five pharmacies, a newsstand, a mini-market, a fruit stand, a gas station, a restaurant, and a café, all located in the areas of Pera Choriou Nisou and Agia Varvara.
In all cases, the perpetrators smashed the glass doors with rocks and stole a total of approximately €5,900 from the cash registers.
During the investigation, three cash registers—which had been destroyed—were found in various locations in Idali and Agia Varvara, three cash registers that had been destroyed, as well as various other items that were seized as evidence.

Various pieces of evidence were also collected from the crime scenes for forensic analysis.
During the investigation of the cases, evidence emerged against a 17-year-old, who was arrested yesterday afternoon pursuant to a court warrant.
The suspect was brought before the Nicosia District Court today, which issued an order for his detention for eight days.
The Nicosia CID’s Serious Crime and Burglary Investigation Unit, in cooperation with the Pera Chori Police Station, is investigating the cases.
