Agros Community Leader Antonis Tsolakis stated on the Alpha News program that the prevailing weather conditions are unusual both in terms of intensity, as in their duration for the summer season.

“No one could move, not even take a step. And for those in the community who were in their cars, neither the rain nor the windshield wipers could keep up.”

Mr. Tsolakis said that the storm “caused” minor problems in the community, such as rock slides, rocks, and soil on parts of the road network, which are already being resolved through the intervention of crews from the Community Complex and the Nicosia District Administration.

“Usually, these rains cause damage to crops, especially fruit. We’ll wait to see what happens today and then take stock of the situation.”
