At 3:30, the two suspects were recorded breaking into the “Bouat” cultural center, located on Megalou Alexandrou Street.
As recorded by the building’s security camera, the perpetrators, riding a motorcycle, approached the entrance; the passenger got off, placed the bomb at the entrance, and then fled.
“Immediately, patrols from the Limassol Police Department and the Special Anti-Terrorism Unit cordoned off the scene, and on-site examinations revealed that the explosion was caused by the detonation of an improvised metal explosivedevice, which consisted of low-yield explosive material.”

Evidence was collected from the scene for examination. Investigators from the Limassol CID have also obtained footage from the property’s closed-circuit surveillance system as well as from other security cameras in the area and are analyzing it.

According to reports, the managers stated that they have no suspicions and that we have no disputes with anyone. The first floor houses the offices of the EDON District Council, and investigations at this stage have ruled out that it was the perpetrators’ target.
