Outraged residents of the Mitsero community and surrounding communities held a protest rally, once again expressing their strong opposition to the relocation of an asphalt plant to Mitsero.
Local residents and the group “Communities in Action” gathered at the site where the plant is to be built, demanding that construction be halted. They expressed their deep concerns regarding the protection of public health and air quality.

“We are here because our area is already so burdened that we can’t tolerate any more asphalt plants, quarries, or anything else.”

And they are once again calling on the relevant authorities to reconsider the decision to relocate the asphalt plant.
“Our rights are non-negotiable. We will not give in. We demand that the government finally take notice of the people of this place. We demand that it treat us as citizens of this country. We demand explanations and clear answers to our unanswered questions.”
