Following the chaos caused by the ultimately not-so-successful digitization of Cypriot television, the Department of Electronic Communications of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy has put the previous Velister platform back into operation.
“As of this morning, it is operating normally, and anyone who wishes to continue tuning in to the Hellas Stat network will be able to do so without being cut off from their entertainment and news television programs.”

Alpha has created a special artificial intelligence tool that lets you check, in just a few simple steps, whether your TV is compatible with DVB-T2 technology.
You can find it here.
The previous platform will operate alongside the new one for the next 3 months, until all citizens have had the opportunity to resolve any issues and take the necessary steps to retune their sets.
“Those who are not receiving any TV signal and have purchased new set-top boxes should simply retune their set-top box or TV set one more time, and they will certainly receive the signal from the former platform’s network.”
Andronikos Kakkouras – Deputy Director of the Department of Electronic Communications
The Deputy Ministry emphasizes that the period of parallel operation of the previous platform is intended to ensure a smoother transition to the new digital terrestrial television platform.
