The Kyrenia “District Court” issued a new six-day detention order for Alexei Sokpa, a man of Russian origin, 43, who is wanted by Interpol for the murder of Vangelis Zambounis in Athens and has been taken into custody in the occupied territories.
According to reports from the occupied territories, he was arrested on August 24 and detained; the following day, a three-day detention “order” was issued, which expired today. He is “accused” of trespassing in a first-degree military zone, illegally entering the pseudo-state, and illegal residence.

According to what was heard today in “court,” Sokpa was traveling back and forth between the occupied and free areas via the area around the illegal airport in Tymbou.
The “police” are continuing their investigation into whether he committed any other “offenses” in the occupied areas, which is why they requested and were granted an additional six days of detention.
