Arson is believed to be the cause of a fire that broke out in the early morning hours at a ground-floor property in Germasogeia.
According to the latest update from the police, the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department is investigating a case of arson at a ground-floor unit in an apartment building in the Germasogeia area.
Members of the police and fire departments responded to a report of a fire received around 4 a.m.
Two people who were inside the unit escaped unharmed.
The fire caused minor damage to the glass display case and the interior of the premises, and the scene was cordoned off for investigation.
According to our information, however, the premises in question, which belong to a foreign national, operated as a massage parlor, and the individuals rescued were two young women who were living in the loft above the shop.
