A fire in a motor vehicle in Aglantzia on Monday was caused by arson, according to the findings of an investigation by the Fire Department in cooperation with the Police.
According to the Fire Department, at 12:25 p.m. yesterday, a call was received reporting a fire in a motor vehicle that was parked in a covered area of an apartment building in Aglantzia, in the Nicosia district.
The Akropolis Fire Station, led by Sergeant Spyros Ttantis, responded with two fire trucks, and the fire was brought under control at 12:49 p.m.
As a result of the fire and the heat, the vehicle sustained damage to the engine compartment and the passenger compartment.
Before the Fire Department arrived, a local resident attempted to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher.
Upon their arrival, Fire Department personnel proceeded to fully extinguish the fire.
According to the investigation, which was conducted in cooperation with the Police, the fire was caused by arson.
