The fire that broke out yesterday morning in a ground-floor residence in Ayia Napa was caused by arson, with the prefabricated storage shed adjacent to the residence sustaining extensive damage, according to the Fire Department.

In a statement, the Fire Department noted that the fire broke out at 6:17 a.m. in a ground-floor prefabricated storage shed adjacent to the residence, and was brought under control at 7:10 a.m. by members of the Famagusta Fire Station “Sergeant Adamou Adamou,” who rushed to the scene with two fire trucks.
After the Fire Department investigated the cause, in cooperation with the Police, it was determined that the fire was the result of arson.
