The timeline of the tragedy
The infant, who was set to turn one in two days, had been diagnosed with gastroenteritis a few days earlier.
Specifically, he had developed a fever on June 23, and his parents took him to the pediatrician the next day, who prescribed medication.
Yesterday, Thursday evening, however, his condition appeared to have worsened, and his father rushed him to Limassol Hospital; he had no external injuries but was unconscious, with blue lips, pale, and not breathing.
There, despite the doctors’ superhuman efforts to save him, they were ultimately unsuccessful, and the infant passed away at 11:30 p.m.
