Last night, members of the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with two incidents involving burglary and theft from a hotel, as well as theft from shipping containers at a construction site under development, which were committed in January 2026 in the Famagusta district.
Specifically, as part of an investigation into cases of burglary and theft of copper and bathroom fixtures from a hotel in Protaras, as well as the breaking into of five shipping containers at a construction site in Ayia Napa, and the theft of a large number of tools, cables, and a car, all of which were committed in January 2026, members of the Famagusta CID arrested a 42-year-old man yesterday pursuant to a court warrant.
The 42-year-old appeared today before the Famagusta District Court, which issued a three-day detention order against him. The Famagusta CID is continuing its investigation.
