The 31-year-old man, who was injured in a bomb explosion at his home in Sotira on Friday night, is in extremely critical condition.
According to reports, the 30-year-old man sustained injuries all over his body, and his hand was severed at the scene.
An ambulance arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to the Famagusta General Hospital, where he is being treated; according to the police, he underwent surgery.
All reports indicate that he was allegedly constructing the explosive device on the premises, according to information from Alphanews.Live.
The 31-year-old had been the subject of various criminal cases involving the authorities in the recent past.

It is recalled that the explosion occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Friday, with police officers rushing immediately to the scene to investigate.
The explosive device detonated in a storage room/garage located on the property while the 30-year-old was inside.
The investigation is being conducted with the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police Headquarters, and the search has been extended to a radius of several meters from the scene.
