The Nicosia District Court today issued a restraining order against a 24-year-old man for offenses involving the illegal possession of explosive materials, carrying an offensive weapon into a sports venue, carrying dangerous objects during a soccer match, and assaulting a police officer with the intent to resist lawful arrest.
These offenses were committed on September 6, 2026, during the soccer match between APOEL and AEL at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.

Upon the filing of the case under the Law on the Prevention and Suppression of Violence in Sports Venues, the District Court ordered that the 24-year-old be released on conditions ensuring his appearance at the next hearing.
At the same time, following a request from the police, the court issued an order barring the 24-year-old from sports venues until the conclusion of the trial.
