The case against the 37-year-old father, who faces a charge of causing death by reckless, careless, or dangerous act, in connection with the death of his three-year-old child. The court set the trial date for July 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and ordered his release from custody under strict conditions.
Specifically, the 37-year-old was required to post a cash bail of 20,000 euros, be placed on the stop list, surrender all his travel documents, report once a week to the Paphos Central Police Station to sign in, refrain from passing through roadblocks, and provide the police with his full residential address.

After fulfilling all the conditions imposed by the court, the 37-year-old was released pending his next court appearance. It is recalled that the Attorney General issued instructions for the criminal prosecution of the 37-year-old after evaluating all the evidence gathered during the police investigation.
According to reports, a trace of alcohol was detected in the defendant’s blood, a factor that is expected to be considered during the trial.

Let us recall that the tragic accident occurred on July 12 at a hotel in Paphos when, while playing, the baby slipped from his father’s arms and fell from the third floor of the hotel where the family—who had come to our country on vacation—was staying.
