The fire, which spread to dry grass and wild vegetation in Limassol after initially breaking out in a vehicle, has been brought under control.
According to Fire Department Spokesperson Andreas Kettis, the fire burned a total area of approximately one and a half hectares of dry grass, wild vegetation, and a number of trees.
The fire started in a motor vehicle that was in motion and, after the fire broke out, pulled over to the side of the road. The driver of the vehicle exited safely and in a timely manner and moved away from the scene.
Firefighters will remain on site and work throughout the night to fully contain the fire and prevent any flare-ups.
