The Council of Ministers decided today to create a field position at the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Paris, with the sole purpose of strengthening support and services for Cypriot citizens traveling to France as patients receiving government-funded specialized treatments and medical services, as well as their companions and families, said Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides.
The decision, he said, is part of the broader framework of the Government’s people-centered policy and its ongoing effort to improve the services offered to citizens, especially during times of heightened personal and family challenges.
“The Government recognizes that patients who are forced to travel abroad for health reasons—and particularly the families of children undergoing specialized treatments— need substantive guidance, support, and practical assistance during their stay. The new position aims precisely to create a stable point of contact and service for Cypriot patients in Paris, helping to better manage the needs that arise while they are away from home.”
With this decision, he added, “the Government is effectively strengthening the safety net and care system for citizens facing serious health problems, reaffirming that dignity, quality of service, and human support are key priorities of its policy.”
