A new plan for the maintenance and repair of homes belonging to residents trapped in and resettled to the occupied areas is in its final stages, following an initiative by Presidential Commissioner Marios Hartsoti in collaboration with the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK).
According to an announcement by the Office of the Presidential Commissioner, the drafting of the new Plan is now in its final stage, and the relevant agencies are working to finalize the procedures and submit it for approval.
As reported, at the initiative of Presidential Commissioner Marios Hartsoti and in collaboration with ETEK, work is underway on a new plan for the maintenance and repair of homes belonging to people trapped in and resettled from the occupied areas.

To this end, a meeting was held today between the Presidential Commissioner and representatives of the Ministry of the Interior and ETEK, during which the final outstanding issues in the draft plan currently under development were reviewed, the statement adds.
“Today’s meeting is a follow-up to the meeting the Presidential Commissioner had recently with the Minister of the Interior, during which the key parameters of the initiative were discussed and it was agreed to expedite the procedures for its completion,” the statement notes.
The initiative, it is noted, is part of the broader policy of the Government and the Governance Program of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, to provide substantial support to the enclaved and resettled persons and to improve their living conditions in our occupied communities.
The goal is for the new Plan to serve as a meaningful and practical tool to support the people who, under particularly difficult conditions, continue to remain there and keep our presence alive in our ancestral homes, the announcement states.
