The previous digital terrestrial television platform will resume operations for a transitional period of three months, broadcasting in parallel with the new one.
The Department of Electronic Communications of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy informs the public that, starting today, the previous digital terrestrial television platform (Velister) is being reactivated for a transitional period of three months, broadcasting in parallel with the new platform.
This is being done to provide additional time—beyond the three-month period of parallel operation that preceded this — to those of our fellow citizens who continue to experience problems, so they can take the necessary steps, whether these involve retuning their TV sets, purchasing a compatible set-top box, or making adjustments to their home’s reception system.
Alpha has created a special artificial intelligence tool that allows you to check, in just a few simple steps, whether your TV is compatible with DVB-T2 technology.
You can find it here.
Viewers will be able to tune their receivers to the channels they were receiving as of June 30 on the previous platform. Please note that new set-top boxes and TV receivers are capable of receiving the signal from the previous platform.
It is emphasized that the period of parallel operation of the previous platform is intended solely to ensure a smoother transition to the new digital terrestrial television platform.
