A dramatic car chase unfolded this afternoon on the streets of Limassol.

According to initial information from the police, the incident occurred around 4:50 p.m., when on Omonia Avenue, an officer from Unit Z signaled a vehicle—which had no license plates—to stop.

The driver failed to stop when signaled by the officer and fled, with the officer giving chase on his motorcycle.

At some point, the driver reached a dead end and then reversed, striking the police officer’s motorcycle.

The officer was taken to the hospital, though at first glance his condition does not appear to be cause for concern.

Meanwhile, authorities are conducting an investigation to locate the driver, who managed to escape.
