A 40-year-old burglar was caught in the act in Limassol.
According to the police, the 40-year-old, who was located by police officers while illegally inside a jewelry store in Limassol following a tip about a break-in at the premises, was arrested for crimes committed in the act.
The tip about a possible break-in at the premises was received shortly before 11:30 p.m. last night, with the tip stating that the suspect was inside the premises. Members of the Limassol Police Department who responded to the scene located the 40-year-old suspect inside the building. During the subsequent search, police officers found in a bag in the 40-year-old’s possession burglary tools as well as jewelry, for the possession of which he failed to provide satisfactory explanations.
Police officers proceeded to arrest the 40-year-old for crimes committed in flagrante delicto. During his arrest, the 40-year-old resisted, but he was arrested and taken into custody.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the jewelry found in the 40-year-old’s possession had been stolen from the jewelry store following a burglary committed in the preceding days, specifically between September 17 and 18. The burglary had been reported to the police on September 18.
The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department is continuing its investigation.
